The Agricultural Research and Education Centre Raumberg-Gumpenstein (AREC) is part
of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management
(BMLFUW). It is the only institution in Austria that works with its research branch in the field of agriculture (animal and plant science, organic farming) in Alpine regions and it is well-positioned in the research area of grassland ecology, cultural landscape and organic farming. Strategic aim is the integration of aspects of plant and animal production with its ecological and economical consequences, focused on alpine regions.
